Albion Group of Airlines was established in 2002 to provide an internet based fictional airline for the enjoyment of flightsim pilots. The company flies commercial passenger and freight contracts as well as specialist airborne operations in support of governments (virtual) and non-governmental organisations (virtual). The Albion Group is comprised of five modern commercial airlines, these are..... Albion UK Domestic, Albion UK Continental, Albion Logistics, Albion Australia & New Zealand and Albion Worldwide, an expansive selection of short, medium and long haul flight contracts is available to the Albion Group pilot. Albion Special Operations utilises a number of specially converted aircraft and helicopters which operate on a variety of specialised duties anywhere in the world and often at short notice, the responsibility for ferrying Royalty, heads of state and other VIP's, along with many other duties of a sensitive nature, falls to Albion Special Operations, The Albion Group headquarters is based at Tain Airfield in Northern Scotland, also home to the Special Operations Training Facility, fleet maintenance unit and the virtual Royal Netherlands Navy (Koninklijke Marine), which maintains a permanent presence at Tain, Albion pilots are often seconded to this organisation to fly maritime patrol aircraft in Dutch and UK waters. Although based at and administered from Tain, Albion Logistics aircraft would generally operate from Birmingham International Airport in the UK, for the convenience of its commercial customers. Albion Group of Airlines encourages all members to partake fully in the company’s activities and joint operations in which Albion pilots fly in company with other non-company plots. We are essentially an online flying organisation operating solely on the IVAO flightsim network. There is a popular company forum for exchanging ideas and for providing support to members. The Albion call sign (QAA) is well known and respected within the IVAO community and anybody wishing to join the Albion Group must be prepared to maintain our professional standards. Albion pilots are willing to fly as part of a team and individually, often carrying out tasks beyond the norm of civilian flying and as such will need versatile flying skills and competency when flying under live online ATC direction. Above all, being an Albion Group pilot requires dedication, determination, skill, teamwork and a good sense of humour.
